TC 00:09:00:00 — REELS

Instagram Reels Clipping Guide

Reels run on sends. The metric that moves a podcast clip on Instagram is not the like, it is the viewer who forwards it to one specific friend with "this is you" energy. Cut for that person.

Format

  • Vertical 9:16, with a cover frame chosen on purpose: a face, mid-expression, with three or four words of text. The grid is a shop window.
  • Keep captions and faces clear of the top and bottom UI bands.
  • Repurpose clean: never post a clip carrying another platform’s watermark.

The shareable moment

Advice a viewer would send a partner, a cofounder, a friend starting a business. Relatable problems with a sharp line of resolution travel furthest on Reels. When mining an episode, mark any moment you would personally forward, those marks are rarely wrong.

Collabs and captions

Where the guest has an audience, a collaborator post puts the clip in two feeds at once, and it is the cheapest distribution a podcast owns. In the caption, add the context the clip could not carry and the one question that starts comments. Then reply to early comments yourself; the show’s voice in the thread is part of the product.
