X (Twitter) Clipping Guide
On X, a clip is rarely the whole post. It is the evidence attached to a claim, dropped into a conversation that is already moving. Cut and write for that job.
Format
- Upload natively, always. Links out to other platforms travel badly here.
- Vertical works, and so does landscape: X plays 16:9 and square comfortably, which makes it the one platform where the podcast’s original framing survives.
- Burn in captions. The feed is muted by default for most people.
The post is half the clip
Write the post like a headline with a point of view: the claim, the stakes, then the clip as proof. A bare "great moment from the show" post wastes a good cut. Quote posts and replies under larger conversations in your niche are where founder-podcast clips quietly pick up their best audience.
Thread the source
Follow the clip post with the full episode link and one more line of context as a reply. The clip earns attention; the thread converts it. Business and finance shows in particular build real followings this way, because X is where their audience argues for a living.
